This page explains the cookies used on owlextech.com. It should be read with the Privacy Policy. The OWLEX handheld remote app does not set website cookies.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. We use cookies only to remember a choice you already made, and to deliver the Site securely. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or social-media tracking cookies.
Cookies we set
These first-party cookies are written when you pick a country or language in the header. They are functional: without them the Site would forget your choice on the next visit.
| Name | Who sets it | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
owlex_locale | owlextech.com | Stores the interface language you selected (for example en, de, fr) | 12 months |
owlex_region_v2 | owlextech.com | Stores the country / region you selected (for example global, gb, de) | 12 months |
Both cookies use path=/, max-age=31536000, SameSite=Lax, and Secure. They do not identify you by name and are not used for advertising.
If you never open the region picker, we do not set these cookies. The Site then stays on Global / English.
Cookies others may set
The Site is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies or similar signals to keep the connection secure and to filter automated traffic. We do not use those signals to market to you.
Embedded pages you open on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube after leaving our Site are governed by those companies’ cookie policies, not this one.
How to control cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the two Owlex cookies, the Site will still work; it will simply forget your language and region the next time you visit.
Because we only use functional and security cookies, we do not show a consent banner. If we later add analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask before those cookies are set.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top. The current public copy is https://owlextech.com/cookies.
